Great Wall Prepaid Card
Product Introduction
The Great Wall Prepaid Card (“GWPP Card”) is a reloadable prepaid card issued by Bank of China (Australian) Limited. It bears China Unionpay (“CUP”) Logo so that you can use it at places where CUP sponsored cards are accepted. The GWPP Card can be purchased and loaded from any of our retail branches in Australia (NSW & VIC).

- GWPP Card is widely accepted in Asia area especially in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau.
- Bearing CUP Logo, it allows you to access over 1,800,000 Merchants in China.
- You may purchase either Australian Dollar (AUD) card or Chinese Yuan (CNY) card, it will give you more flexibility if you hold two cards at one time:
- The CNY denominated card allows you to convert and fix certain amount of CNY in your GWPP Card at the time of purchase or reload. For instance, if our today’s spot CNY exchange rate is 6.0 and you load AUD2000 into your card, CNY12,000 will be stored in your card regardless of the future CNY exchange rate fluctuation. If CNY2,000 has been spent when you are in China, CNY10,000 will be your card balance.
- The AUD denominated card gives you flexibility when you make certain purchases. For instance, if you load AUD2,000 into your AUD card so that your card credit balance is AUD2,000, when you purchase something worth CNY1,950 in China, the purchasing amount will be converted into AUD by CUP’s spot CNY/AUD exchange rate, for example, 6.5, in which case AUD300 will be deducted from your card which gives you AUD1,700 as the balance.
- The card is valid up to 4 years, prior to that you may have load as many times as you wish subject to transaction limits.
- There is no additional transaction fee when you are spending money from your card overseas. And when your purchasing currency (Japanese Yen) is different from your card currency (AUD), you also can enjoy CUP’s competitive foreign exchange rate.
- Any individual customer who is 18 years of age or older with a valid Passport or an Australian Drivers License may apply to purchase GWPP Cards from us.
- You may use the GWPP Card online service on our website (http://www.bocau.com.au) to access your card information, including your card balance and transactions history, at a convenient time.
- We provide you 24 Hours Customer Service Hotline to assist you with your product general enquiries, online service PIN reset, balance and transaction enquiries, report lost card and report dispute transaction.

- You may choose to load your card by using cash, cheque or transfer from your saving account held with us. The last loading method will save you 50% of the loading fees in general.
- You may choose to purchase a backup card. In the case of card lost, stolen or damaged, you can activate the backup card.
- It is only available for purchases via CUP Merchants (POS / EFTPOS). Transactions from ATMs, payment from telephone based purchases, payment from internet based purchases, purchases for gambling activity, or purchases in aircraft are NOT allowed.
